Five Things That Made Me Smile This Week #4
This week hasn’t been great. After including signing up for Pure Loser in last week’s highlights, attending my first class was actually one of the lower points of this week. Rather than motivating and inspiring me, I was left deflated and a little lost. It wasn’t really what I was expecting and I struggled to pick myself up for a couple of days afterwards. But, here’s a few reasons why my week wasn’t all bad…
1) Going out for dinner
You’ll soon realise that food appears a lot in these posts… What can I say? Food makes me happy! Not too long ago, I discovered the joy of peanut butter burgers – yes, it sounds mental but trust me, it’s incredible. I went out with Gus on Sunday to one of my favourite bars, The Black Fox, and had their take on the peanut butter burger (the Charlie Brown) with a side of Cajun onion rings. YES, GAWD.
2) Catching up at work
I have to juggle a fair few clients at work, so it can be easy to get overwhelmed at times. This week, I rattled through my to-do list and ended the week on a high, having caught up on all my major tasks. There’s nothing better than going into work on Monday with a clean slate, ready to do it all again!
3) Getting my hair done
I hadn’t been to the hairdresser since the start of December, before my Christmas Party to be exact. The colour had faded, my fringe had grown out and my roots were back with a vengeance. But, pay day meant I could head to the hairdresser on Saturday to finally get it done again! I’m not completely happy with the colour – I wanted it more grey than it’s turned out, but I’ll know to ask for another toner next time. I’m just glad my roots are gone…
4) Seeing my parents
When I came home last weekend, my parents were away in Lanzarote. So, it was nice to have them back when I ventured home to get my hair done. We shared some takeaway pizza and watched some cheesy Saturday night tele, whilst looking after the dogs – simple things! They also brought me back some Milka from Duty Free, which I’m resisting the urge to eat whole.
5) Walking the dogs
I was lucky enough to see my girls on Saturday and Sunday for some much-needed hugs. Mum and I ventured out on Sunday to take them a nice walk along the shore front, which was freezing but fun. There’s so many dogs on the same route, so I wasn’t short of puppies to aww at. It’s just a shame the girls aren’t as much of a fan of them as me!
