Five Things That Made Me Smile This Week #16
It’s the end of another week, which can only mean one thing – it’s time for another happiness round-up! I can’t believe I’ve managed to keep this up for 16 weeks, let alone still enjoy writing these posts, but I maintain they’re so important for my wellbeing. I also love to read what has made other people happy, like Beth’s first ever round-up. There’s something so wonderfully contagious about positivity, like how it’s nearly impossible not to smile back at someone who smiles at you in real life. Why should a screen be any different? So, here’s what made this week a good ‘un!
1) A good old pub quiz
Talk about spontaneous plans – I had intended to do absolutely nothing with my Monday night, until my friend invited me to a pub quiz with his girlfriend. We came last (our general knowledge is evidently non-existent), but I still had a blast! Not to mention, I may or may not have gotten a little tipsy from treating myself to a couple of cocktails in the form of the “Toblerone” and a “Toffee Apple Martini”. No, you went home and showered at midnight…
2) Tuesday tipples
After a merry Monday night, I was in the mood to head straight back to a bar on Tuesday. I went for dinner with my friend first, which was pretty terrible, but we did unintentionally get a massive discount off it – more proof that karma exists! We then hit another couple of bars, including our home from home The Basement, and I finished the night with my first White Russian in months.
3) Getting my brows done
It’s the little things, y’know? I’m not one for heading to the beautician all that often, but I do try to keep on top of my eyebrows. It’s not until I get my brows done every time that I realise how bad they were before. The girl was particularly vicious with the wax this time, but my brows are pretty much flawless. Beauty is pain, guys. I also got a free sample of one of my makeup essentials, Gimme Brow – happy days!
4) The return of Paramore
When your favourite band drops a new single, announces a new album and reveals they’re coming to your city on tour in a matter of months, it’s hard not to freak out! Paramore released “Hard Times” out of of the blue this week and I absolutely love it. While it seems they’ve left their rock roots behind, the 80s vibe of this track is hard to resist. I’m so, so excited to see what their new album has in store!
It feels like I haven’t had a break in ages, so when Mum suggested going to Munich for a few days, I jumped on the idea. I’ve visited Berlin before, but that’s the only place I’ve been to in Germany. I absolutely loved it, so hope Munich is more of the same. I’ll undoubtedly update you on what we got up to in next week’s round-up! See you then?
