Five Things That Made Me Smile This Week #33
Hello, my lovelies! How has your week been? I’ve been incredibly queasy all week with spells of dizziness and headaches, so it’s not been the best one for me. It’s also been quite an eye-opening week for seeing people’s true colours, but I don’t want to dwell on that. Without further ado, here’s what made me smile this week.
1) A good performance review
It was time for my six-monthly performance review at work this week. Naturally, I was pretty nervous about it, but I’m pleased to say it went really well and I received really encouraging feedback. I feel comfortable in my role just now and I’m looking forward to seeing where the next six months take me.
2) A night at the Fringe
I had a terrible mental health day on Wednesday, which led to me getting extremely upset and down. In true best friend fashion, Gus met me after work to go for dinner at Wagamama, then to some Fringe shows. We went to Black Market, beside the Edinburgh Dungeon, and attended a couple of improv comedy shows that were hysterical. It was just what I needed to cheer me up and remind me that things aren’t as bad as they seem.
3) Friday lunch
It’s been a good few weeks since I went out for lunch with my colleagues, but we decided to head to Candy Bar on Friday. It was a nice change of scenery and we had a good laugh… but, I found a really long hair in my burger which completely turned my stomach! Here’s hoping our next meal out won’t end the same.
4) A day to myself
I made a point of spending Saturday alone and it was great. I had a mega long lie, before heading into town to order a new pair of glasses. You might remember I got a new pair a few months ago – Specsavers give you 50% off another pair if you order them within six months. So, I ordered a pair of Cath Kidston specs, which I pick up next Monday. I then went to Eteaket for lunch on my lonesome, which was nice albeit way too busy.
5) Buying some holiday clothes
I nipped to Sainsbury’s on Saturday night to stock up my very bare fridge and ended up buying a load of holiday clothes. They had 25% off all clothing, so it would’ve been rude not to! Sainsbury’s clothes are usually really pretty and I often forget about them when looking for new stuff, so I’m really pleased with the purchases I made. Roll on Menorca!
Until next time,
