Christmas Through The Years
Merry Christmas (Eve)! With only one more sleep to go, I wanted to take a look back at Christmas through the years and remember the good times I’ve had. My parents have got some cracking photos in storage, which I had a good rummage through to find my favourites…
Let’s start with my absolute favourite photo from Christmas gone by! It perfectly sums up the excitement of coming downstairs on Christmas morning to find Santa had visited. Yes, I’m fist pumping the air – so is my brother just off camera! I wish I could capture how I felt in this moment and relive it as an adult.
It became tradition for my brother and I to choose a chair each to leave our stockings on to let Santa know where to put our presents. It also became tradition for our parents to capture the magic on camera, so there’s no shortage of photos of us opening our gifts. We were clearly Pocahontas superfans with our matching PJs!
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without family. The festive season always reminds me of my Grandma, who I lost almost ten years ago now. Her birthday was December 19th, so I think of her especially on this day. I miss her more than words can say – she made every Christmas with her so special and I’m so grateful for the time we had together.
I’ve got so many great memories with my brother and cousins at Christmas time. My family used to go to my Aunt’s house for dinner each year, which was so exciting as a kid. As we’ve all gotten older and our family has grown, we no longer do this. But, it was great fun while it lasted!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and create more memories to cherish for years to come. I’ll be spending it with my parents, my brother and his wife, as well as her family – not to mention my favourite girls in the world, the poodles!
Until next time,
