Cambridge Weight Plan: Month Seven
I’m seven months into the Cambridge diet and the results are undeniable. Not only have I lost over a quarter (yup, more than 25%!) of my starting weight, I can physically see my body changing from the hard work I’m putting in at the gym. I’m really starting to feel like the end is in sight and I couldn’t be prouder of what I’ve achieved in such a short space of time.
July was my birthday month, so I definitely had more treats than usual! But, it’s important to remember a few days off-plan won’t pile the weight back on – and if you can’t treat yourself on your birthday, when can you? The good news is I still lost 5lbs this month, which brings my total weight loss so far to 57lbs! That’s four stone gone in just seven months…
I absolutely despise the picture of me on the left (three guesses when it was taken), but it really does highlight how much I’ve changed. I’ve gone from a size 18/20 to 12/14 by losing a total of 31 inches from my body. It’s pretty crazy when you realise the numbers behind it! It’s also amazing what our bodies are capable of. Most of us spend so much time hating our bodies and the way they look when really, they are quite remarkable.
I’ve had so many people, in real life and online, comment on the success of my journey and how it has inspired them. If you’re one of them, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your support and how your kind words have made all the sacrifices worthwhile. On the other hand, I have had the odd shady remark about my choice to do the Cambridge Weight Plan, purely because it is a diet.
There is something about that word that makes some people roll their eyes and immediately tell you that it’s “not sustainable” and “you’ll put the weight back on” and “it’s not healthy”. And yes, that may well be true if you simply cut calories for a while and that’s it. But, I have changed my lifestyle. I haven’t lost all this weight from simply eating less, I’ve been going to the gym four to five times a week. I’ve been making smarter food choices and only indulging in treats every now and then. A diet isn’t a long-term thing. The Cambridge plan has taught me that there is no great secret to weight loss – simply eat right and exercise… and prove them all wrong!
